Despite on-and-off drizzling rain, thousands of family members, friends and neighbors filled [...] Former two-time Kahuku High state football champion quarterback Inoke Funaki [pictured at right] told a modest sized crowd of seniors and parents gathered in the school cafeteria on May 24 for the annual baccalaureate service that they should set goals, plan and prepare for the future. It's been quite a while since our last Kahuku High "sports reports" feature, while the publishers have been deciding basically to keep Kaleo: Koolauloa News as an online publication, so the Red Raiders have been very busy since we last wrote about them. In other words, this is a long article. A dozen Kahuku High senior athletes received letters of intent on February 4, accepting scholarship offers to play at the next level…and more offers are expected to come in the months to come. |
