Laie kids brighten BYUH Christmas program Laie Elementary School children from PreK-to-6 provided lots of spirit at the annual BYU-Hawaii community Christmas lighting program on December 3 in the Cannon Activities Center. For example, the PreK and Head Start keiki performed "Two Front Teeth." Rock and boogie were popular among the older kids, as demonstrated by the third grade's "Jingle Bell Boogie"; "Rockin' on the House Top," 4th grade; "Rockin' Around the Jingle Bells," grade 5; and "Snow Angel"/"Surfin' Laie," a hit by the 6th graders. Mahalo to BYU-Hawaii and President Steven C. Wheelwright; Principal Deborah Voorhies; and Lisa Ellis, Don Hasegawa, Serena Tuliloa, Luella Muaina, Tania Mahoni, others and, of course, all the talented kids. The event was co-sponsored by the Polynesian Cultural Center; Hawaii Reserves, Inc. (HRI); and The Country Doctor, Dr. Marc Shlachter, M.D. 5 comments to Laie kids brighten BYUH Christmas program |

The Laie School children were simply adorable! Thanks for sharing!
Our family enjoyed the program…
…but it was unfortunate that the “Christmas” program, songs and presentation focused on Santa and not Jesus Christ.
before you judge the program, try and get all the facts down. Although Laie is an LDS town, Laie Elem. is a PUBLIC SCHOOL where religion is not allowed.
